FROZEN Snowflake Mini Candy Cupcakes

FROZEN Mini Candy Cupcakes

I made these adorable little Frozen Mini Candy Cupcakes for my girls.

Just because.

We didn’t eat them ALL ourselves, of course.  I shared some.  But the reason behind their creation was simply my girl’s love of the Disney movie FROZEN.

And because they were cute.

FROZEN Mini Candy Cupcakes

I’ve made these mini “cupcakes” before with regular Reese’s miniature peanut butter cups, but when I found the white chocolate versions in the store, I just knew they would be perfect for a project like this!

I matched them with some blue icing {store bought icing + blue food coloring} and some snowflake sprinkles.

I used the Cake Mate Sequins Winter Snowflake sprinkles, not even noticing until afterwards that the actual “snowflakes” look more like little flowers than anything else.

So, next time, I’ll probably opt for a different sprinkle.  Something more like Wilton’s Pearlized Snowflake Sprinkles.

But they’re still cute, right??

Totally cute.

And my girls LOVED them.  So did the other people I shared them with.

They would be completely perfect for a FROZEN birthday party {something Elsa herself might whip up}, or even any winter themed event.

TO ASSEMBLE THE CANDY CUPCAKES:

1.  Unwrap peanut butter cups.
2.  Separate snowflakes from other sprinkles {if necessary}.
3.  Add blue food coloring to icing, mixing thoroughly.
4.  Put blue icing in a piping bag fitted with a small star tip {about #16} or gallon size plastic storage baggy with the end snipped off.
5.  Pipe icing on top of peanut butter cups like you would a cupcake.
6.  Top with snowflake sprinkle before icing sets.
7.  Store covered in a cool location.

Enjoy!

Matching Personalized Monogram Gifts

Blue and White Chevron Matching Personalized Monogram Gifts

I love the idea of being able to set up an entire meal with personalized dishes and matching accessories.

Which is what these chevron patterned monogram gifts are for!  From the placemat and coasters for your breakfast at home to the lunchbox and water bottle for your lunch at the office, these are a great way to start any meal.

They’re great for kids, too!  I mean, sure, you might first think of yourself, or even your teenage daughter/granddaughter when you first look at them, but young kids also love to see their names on things – even when they’re just starting to learn their letters.  And not all of us want to have blinding primary colors or gigantic faces of Elmo plastered all over our kitchens.

We have to look at this stuff every day, too, amiright?

{Okay, okay… my girls have Jake and the Neverland Pirates placemats.  I admit it.  BUT, I love Jake, too.  :) }

Because we should be able to surround ourselves with things we love.  And things that no one will mistake as not being ours.  Especially if you’re living in a dorm or working in an office where your stuff keeps walking off…

Anyway, aside from the easy personalization, the other thing I love about this line of monogrammed gifts is that they come in different colors.  Below you’ll find the links for the blue, green, and pink versions!

Please share with me which are your favorites!  And don’t forget to also share them on Facebook and Pinterest!

Home Sweet Play Home Tents

I saw this Home Sweet Play Home tent at Parents.com today and I got so excited!

Kids Canopy: Teal Polka Dot Play Circus Tent - Teal Polka Dot Play Canopy

I mean, it’s like a circus tent, which normally I wouldn’t like, but it’s delicate and charming, too!  That’s not an easy task.

Plus, it comes with it’s own windows to peek in and out of, and there’s a matching floor pillow!

I’m getting all excited just thinking about how much my girls would love this!

Although I am a little tempted to get the pink one…

But blue would go better with my decor.  :)

Ice

Ice

My latest collage on Polyvore is a simple, understated bohemian look I titled Ice.

I can see myself curled up and cozy in this tattered snowflake sweater, offset by the color of my well-worn jeans, the infinity scarf hanging loosely off of one shoulder, the metal finger cuffs cool against my warm skin.

…sweater weather = love…

Owl Reading in Blue and White Room

Owl Reading in Blue & White Room

Okay, the owl is actually a doorstop and not a pillow, but I liked how comfy he looked on the couch.

While designing this room on Polyvore, I was thinking of my favorite decorating colors:  white and light blue.  They calm me.  They make me happy.

And owls and books and fluffy pillows and soft blankets make me happy.

Not that I’d actually be able to read a vintage French paperback, but I could hold it in my arms, feel the delicate pages with my fingers, and fall asleep with it on my chest as its gentle scent cascaded through my dreams.

That would make me happy, too.
