Rabbit Ears Writing Desk

rabbit ears writing desk

I’ve been creating a lot of rooms on Polyvore lately.  It’s a bit addicting.  Like creating a room or a wedding on Pinterest.

Anyway, this room (or vignette) features a writing desk and writer’s tools – a typewriter and coffee.  And an adorable T-Rex desk organizer.  Can’t forget that.  :)

I chose the modern walnut desk and chair to reflect the color of the bunny in the Rabbit Ears poster.  Because all of us writers are constantly searching for a place with the perfect reception from our writing gods.  Or daemons.

The rest of the posters are of a typology or logophile nature.  Throw in a few more fun accents and there you have it.

What do you think?  Could you write the next great American novel here?

The Neutral Newlyweds

The Neutral Newlyweds is a Polyvore set that I created around some matching pillows from one of my Zazzle stores:

His & Hers Pillows “His”

His & Hers Pillows “Hers”

I always liked these pillows because they were sleek and understated, but still fun.

They nicely accent other neutrals, so I surrounded them with elegant furnishings in brown, white, and silver.

I’d love to hear your feedback!

Miami Beach & Home

My latest Polyvore venture is called “Miami Beach & Home,” a name inspired by the Miami Beach poster hanging next to the window with the ocean view and the sculptures on the coffee table.

I picked a sofa to match the colors in the poster and then played around with fun pillows and accents in a variety of colors that seemed somewhat tropical and modern to me.

It’s purposely eclectic.  Supposed to be fun.

Easter Bunny Decorations

I’ve got bunnies on the mind.

I can’t help it.  Easter is nearly here and I’m still trying to decide what kind of cookies I’m going to make.  I just know I want them to be bunnies.  :)

Thus, with the bunnies already on my mind, while cruising the web I found a couple I just HAD to share.

They were way too cute not to.

Anyway, the bibliophile in me loved these decoupage bunnies:

And the graphic designer in me loved this colorful pillow:

Okay:  I’m better now.

Got some of the bunny-ness out of my system.

For now.  :)

Modern Moose Clocks

I looooove this owl clock!

Of course, I love most things owl.  But the shape and the colors are so simple but sleek and unique that I just can’t stop looking at it.  I’m mesmerized.

The 3D, handcrafted wood clocks are made by Modern Moose, and they have other gems, like this robot and sock monkey:

You can find the Owl Clock and others at The Grommet!

Owl Reading in Blue and White Room

Owl Reading in Blue & White Room

Okay, the owl is actually a doorstop and not a pillow, but I liked how comfy he looked on the couch.

While designing this room on Polyvore, I was thinking of my favorite decorating colors:  white and light blue.  They calm me.  They make me happy.

And owls and books and fluffy pillows and soft blankets make me happy.

Not that I’d actually be able to read a vintage French paperback, but I could hold it in my arms, feel the delicate pages with my fingers, and fall asleep with it on my chest as its gentle scent cascaded through my dreams.

That would make me happy, too.
