Muddle and Match Book Review

Muddle and Match Book Review by Roaming Rosie

I love these Muddle and Match books!  They make great gifts but they also keep my kids entertained during both story time and long car rides.  The reason for this is because they are SO interactive.

The concept of the books is this:  you have three sections on each “page” that are all able to be turned independently.  So the story on the left and the picture on the right can be changed over and over.  You could end up with a cowgirl head, a fairy body, and a mermaid tail – kind of like the picture on the cover.  And then you can change it up again!

Another thing I love is the alliteration.  Each page of the story focuses on one letter – which makes it easy to incorporate these books into lessons of learning the alphabet.

The books themselves are like a board book with thick pages, and they also feature rounded edges.

And, you know, they are super silly and fun!  Which is an awesome way to help kids learn to love reading.

Hello Sun {eBook}

Hello Sun Picture Book by Rosemary Lynn

Hello Sun is my newest picture book, and I’m so excited to share it with you!

This is a simple text with words that flow and rhyme as you journey from the morning to the night.  With your Little Ones on your lap, you can greet the morning sun, the flowers and bugs and birds, and the stars and moon together.

It’s a great book for bedtime because of the soothing rhythmic text and the bold, striking illustrations.  It’s something I enjoy sharing with my toddler and preschooler, and it’s fun for them, too.  They can interact with the text {like by waving goodnight to the sun} but it’s meant to be read slowly, to help induce a calm before bedtime.  It’s also great to read to babies, who will especially appreciate the bold colors.

I had some fun with paper textures while making the artwork, and the words themselves were inspired by my kids.  My 4yo and 2yo always greet the moon and sun {“Hello, Moon!!!”}, and so this was a story that mimics our own daily paths through life.

You can get the ebook on Amazon and you can see all of my picture books there, too.

I’ve also posted about my picture book Alice’s African Alphabet Adventure.

White Chocolate Confetti Blondies

White Chocolate Confetti Blondies

These White Chocolate Confetti Blondies are a fun way to add some color to a sweet treat!

Plus, sprinkles are always a hit in our house.

I have to make sure my girls don’t eat all the sprinkles before we can stir them into the batter.  :)

White Chocolate Confetti Blondies

It’s a simple recipe, and easy to make by hand.  {I’m always happy when I don’t have to wash a mixer.}

I always have colorful cake sprinkles on hand, and the ones you see here are this kind.

White Chocolate Confetti Blondies

The end result is pretty sweet.

Not overly-sweet, but more of a party food than a eat-every-day snack.

White Chocolate Confetti Blondies

It’s quick, too – just stir everything together, smush it into a pan, and bake!

And don’t they look just full of gooey gorgeousness???
